Question How can I generate an Outlook Calendar Reminder from an Excel schedule

    Hi,

I have a schedule of tasks that I regularly have to carry out listed in an excel spread sheet. These tasks vary in frequency as to when they need to be carried out so I inevitably have to check the spread sheet each day to see if any of the tasks are due. Once the task is complete, I update my spread sheet with the date the task was completed and the spread sheet then generates the next date this same task is due to be completed.

Is there a relatively straightforward way for me to link this spread sheet to my Outlook calendar so that these tasks will automatically appear alongside my other appointments in Outlook. Alternatively can the Excel tasks be linked to generate Outlook tasks.

Ideally I am looking to have some sort of formula / macro / code which says if the due date of the task = todays date then generate an Outlook appointment to my calendar.

Any help would be gratefully received.

PS: I am by no means an Excel whizz so I'm really after click by click instructions here.

    Many thanks,
    Nick

Re: How can I generate an Outlook Calendar Reminder from an Excel schedule

    Hi Alan,

Firstly, thanks for the info. This has made me aware of some of the potential pitfalls in what I am trying to achieve which I had previously not considered. Having said that, unfortunately the example uses an old version of Excel and the code does not work on 64bit systems so consequently the steps do not work on my pc.

I don't suppose you can direct me to a more recent explanation by any chance?

    Thanks
    Nick

I found that by doing a google search. It was the first one to appear and seemed logical. I have no further information.
