to convert one table with column heads in to another table by includng columns heads also

    Dear Friends .
    Good evening

I am working in a bank in India .We are having more than 3000 branches .I want to convert a table with one format to another format.By doing so we will able to save plenty of time in one branch itself which means it can save enormous time. Now we are doing it manually the various allowances credit to the staffs ..If this table can be created we can make it automatic.

I have tried with plenty of formulas a lot of days spending a lot of time..I could not convert. Please kindly help me with a macro or with formulas.I have attached the sheet with full explanations.. for security purposes i have changed the account numbers and name.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Forgive me if I gently point out that this is clearly for a large commercial organisation and you appear to be looking for a complete turn key solution.

There's no harm in asking here and maybe someone will pick it up, but normally many of us prefer to give general assistance about concepts and offer ideas for development, particularly where the original poster has demonstrated some attempt at a solution.

You might therefore find you have more take up in the Commercial Services Forum. A large bank with 3000 branches can presumably afford a few dollars given that the financial benefit you will accrue is probably going to be several factors better.

I am sorry Richard sir to have asked this in this forum.. But i am just one staff of one such branch .Actually it involves a lot of sequences and steps which i myself develped more than 85% seriously (i am not telling for namesake) please download the sheet you will find it wont be very complicated ..Even i asked for just 11 staffs of a small branch and it is as simple as other members questions Richard..

    Thanking you

    Hi,

I did look at the workbook.

The best advice I can give you is to reconsider the way you are capturing the data. There seems little point in capturing data in a format that's no use and then having to jump through hoops to change it

Is it being manually entered or is it a download from a back office system? Either way capture it in a simple table like the one you want to end up with and then as a final process copy the table and change all the copied Cs to Ds, and the CHs to GLs which seems to be the main feature of the end result.

If the A/C nos are directly related to staff names then you could use a simple VLOOKUP formula to generate the values and won't need to manually add them.

Dear Richard really thanks for seeing my excel sheet..I admit that it is a large organisation ,but they dint take up even after asking them to simplify the programs not just in this work ,,we want changes in the lot of softwares which we are using .. But we at the branch level are doing a lot of work with less staffs.I was doing this credit of allowances ..Initially just to save my time and effort ,i attempted this i have successfully uploaded the file by manually entering the data in the format which i wanted finally.Actually the first table is the readily available one in all the branches.I in an attempt to help other braches and my friends i thought of making it automatic.Once this format is ready ,the remaining sequences which are required and which i developed to upload the file will take it to success.

Hai i tried with many formulas like index ,match, small if and... if with or and and ,but nothing worked sir..

    Thanking you sir..

Just to add, the vba looks at the data as positioned in your sample sheet. Try creating your actual file in this sheet and check it the data is fine.
