    Macro name not displaying properly

    Hi friends,
I have created a macro 'uid' and rename the module to 'profession'. In the list of macro 'alt + f8' the name displays 'profession.uid' which confuse me. I want to display the name 'uid' and not 'profession.uid'. I select the macro by pressing the first letter of it as in this case 'u' and reach that macro and click it to run.

Please suggest me a solution to display name 'uid'.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

    Regards,

    Mukesh

how did you do the "rename"

did you change the name in the actual macro Sub line?

Re: Macro name not displaying properly

    Hi jmac1947,
I changed the macro name in sub line from 'uid' to 'UID' and rename the module name by pressing f4 tab and typed the name 'profession'.

    Thank you.

Re: Macro name not displaying properly

    Mukesh,

    I am puzzled.

I just opened a workbook that had a macro "Macro1". I edited that macro to change the name to "UID" and saved the macro.

I then pressed F4 (had to press it twice to highlight name field) and altered the name to Testing and saved the vba

    Saved the workbook

pressed Alt-F8 and all I see is UID (no reference to Testing visible)

I suggest that maybe you need to do it again in this sequence and see what happens

Sorry if this doesn't help but I cannot replicate you problem which is the first step to resolving it.

If you think it will help, post the workbook

    Cheers

Re: Macro name not displaying properly

    Hi jmac1947,
Don't puzzle. I have simply changed the name of macro 'UID' to 'UIDS' and the problem is solved. I think when we change the name of macro in sub line then the problem is occur. In future I will not change the name of macro to avoide this problem. The same macro is displaying the correct name in other workbook after exporting it.

    Thank you for kind assistance.

    Have a nice day!

    Mukesh
