    Conditional Formatting

I have a simple formatting question: In my workshee I have a cell (B1) that I would like to change he fill based on if a different cell (c1) is blank.

More or less... IF B1 empty, C1 has fill of pink, otherwise white fill (normal).

Can someone please tell me how to create this formatting?

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Select the cell that you want this to apply to (your comments contradict each other, but I assume it is C1), then click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a Formula... , then put this formula in the dialogue box:

    =B1=""

Then click the Format button, choose the Fill tab and select your colour. Click OK twice to exit the dialogue box.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Let me clarify: If Cell B12 has a value of "UPS Account Number" displayed, I would like a different cell, D12, to have its formatting changed to display a new fill of pink.

    Does that help?

No, it contradicts what you said earlier even further - you originally asked to change the fill colour of a cell (C1) if the cell next to it (B1) is empty.
