Re: Listing/Renaming Files in a folder from excel

    Hello,

I have been looking all through the forums and online and having difficulty getting a macro to rename images into sets. I was not sure if this was possible or not but I thought that this forum would be the best place to start!
The attached worksheet works great I am just unsure how to get the naming in a sequence. Is this s possibility without manually naming each one?

    Examples:

    1234_1.jpg
    1234_2.jpg
    1234_3.jpg
    abcd_1.jpg
    abcd_2.jpg
    abcd_3.jpg
    abcd_4.jpg

I would like to get these named in the following sequence if it is possible:

    1234_1_of_3.jpg
    1234_2_of_3.jpg
    1234_3_of_3.jpg
    abcd_1_of_4.jpg
    abcd_2_of_4.jpg
    abcd_3_of_4.jpg
    abcd_4_of_4.jpg

    yozangwu,

Unfortunately you need to post your question in a new thread, it's against the forum rules to post a question in the thread of another user. If you create your own thread, any advice will be tailored to your situation so you should include a description of what you've done and are trying to do. Also, if you feel that this thread is particularly relevant to what you are trying to do, you can surely include a link to it in your new thread.
