    Can't Right Click

I am unable to right click in the body of my spreadsheet. I can in the header and the left side, but not in the main body. Can someone help me fix this, please? Wrenie

Re: Can't Right Click in Excel, Help

Does this workbook have VBA code? If it does you will know because it should prompt you to enable it when the workbook is opened, assuming your macro security setting is Medium.

If so, then possibly the worksheet module contains code in the "BeforeRightClick" event of the sheet module and it is canceling the right-click. To see if there is code in the sheet module press Alt + F11 keys to open the VB Editor.

If the VB Project window is not in view (generally a tree-type view on left) then click View > Project Explorer to display. Look for the sheet name among the sheet module and double-click the applicable sheet. You should see code in the code pane (right-hand pane) if it has VBA code.

Look for a line that says "Cancel = True" and place a single quote mark at the start of the line to "turn off" that bit of code.

Does this happen on other worksheets in the workbook and in sheets in a different workbook.

It also may be a spreadsheet that has been locked (security protected) by it's creator. Then you can only amend the parts of the spreadsheet that hasn't been protected. But it should be notified by Excel on the screen.
