Shortcut to go to source cell not working across different workbooks or worksheets

Hi,

Using Excel 2011 for the Mac and having trouble with the shortcut for going to the source cell from a cell with a formula linking to that cell. While the shortcut cmd + [ works within a worksheet, it won't work when the source cell is in another workbook or another worksheet. Instead the message "no cells were found" appears.

Does anyone have a solution to make this shortcut work across workbooks and worksheets?

I've never touched a Mac, but on Windows, the code to trace off-sheet precedents and dependents is very obscure.
