HELP: need to autofill date range displayed as continuous number beginning with 0

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I have a problem. I need to autofill a weekly date range up to 1 year, but I need the dates to be displayed as continuous number beginning with 0, eg. below

date range example displayed in date format (which is easy to autofill)

    1/20/17
    1/27/17
    2/3/17
    2/10/17
    2/17/17
    2/24/17
    3/3/17

but I need it displayed like

    012017
    012717
    020317
    021017
    021717
    022417
    030317

    and so on...

the problem is that when I autofill as a number, theres no way as far as I can tell for excel to understand that its a date range (separated into 3 lots of 2 numbers within one 6 digit number), AND/OR that there is no date display format in that particular format I need: a 6 digit number containing 3 sets of 2 digits which each represent their own value (month, day, year).

Of course I can just manually input all of the numbers, however I feel like there should be an easier solution, or a more customizable date format option. Can anyone please help me with this?

Apply the custom format mmddyy to the range.

Highlight your column. Go to Format, custom, type in the address box mmddyy.

I can't believe it was so simple. Thank you so much, It would have been so easy if mmddyy was an option that showed up in the custom format presets.
