Formula: IF A has data and E is blank add this text to F...

Occasionally I have to code some projects for a friend I work for.
Well now, because we are looking to change services, I need to do some heavy coding that is beyond my self taught knowledge.
So I might be a frequent visitor if that's ok


Right now I need help with this formula that is located in Column R

={ "G2Blank" ; ArrayFormula(IF((AND(A2 <>"", Q2="")), "2. Guest", ""))}


What I need is for it to check A2 and if it is NOT blank, and Column Q IS blank... then it needs to put the 2. Guest in column R.

It works for just that row but I need for it to be a A2:A and Q2:Q formula so that it does this for every row as it comes in.... If I add the :A and :Q to the formula it stops working at all.

What am I doing wrong ... besides try to figure out something I have not been taught .. lol

Since this is more a Google sheets question I will move your thread to that sub-forum.

Attempting to open the file attached to post #1 results in the following Microsoft Excel error message on my computer:
"We found a problem with some content...Do you want us to try and recover as much as we can?"
Just reading post #1 "so that it does this for every row as it comes in...", it seems that you want R3 to display "2. Guest" if A3 is not blank and Q3 is blank. Is that correct?
