I am using Excel 2016 on Mac and I am looking for a solution to split a cell into multiple cells. However, it seems that this option in Layout is not available ?
Can anyone advise ?

You cannot split cells in Excel. If you think about it for a minute it will become clear why. Suppose you split cell A1 into two cells. What would be the addresses of the two new cells?
(You can split table cells in Word, but you can't do the same thing in Excel.)
