Hi there,

I have a problem hyperlinking to folders in Excel 365 for Mac.

What I want to do is to create small database type worksheet using Excel, and include hyperlinks to folders that hold multiple files. The aim would be to have the database in a folder on a thumb drive that could be passed to others, who could open it in either excel for Windows or Mac.

For example, if I create the database on drive D:\ as D:\Database\

Then have Files Folders within is such as:

D:\Database\
D:\Database\Sample Database.xlxs
D:\Database\Folder-1\File1.txt
D:\Database\Folder-1\File2.txt

It used to be that I could link to the folder by first defining a file path such as D:\Database\Folder-1\File1.txt then editing the link to read D:\Database\Folder-1\ and this would open the folder directly so I could see the contents.

When trying to do this with the latest version of 365 for Mac, it just tells me it cant open the specified file.

To make matters more difficult, I want to make sure that the path can be read by either system, Windows or Mac, so want to have the links with a relative paths such as .\Folder-1\File1.txt

I don't really want to to use macros if I can help it as some people do not want to open an files that could be considered to hold a threat.

Anyone know if this is feasible?

Thanks in advance.
