I have completed porting an excel/VBA project to MAC. At times it was both frustrating and puzzling - our main problem was the sandbox limitations.
Ron de Bruin and Nigel Dyer are good references but I felt that I should also document my experience for others' benefit.

I've occasionally encountered clients who have previously used Excel for Windows but subsequently gave access to a few users who used a Mac - painful.
After one or two of these I promised myself never to try to develop Excel applications which would be used on both platforms, it was just far too time consuming.

Mind you that was nowhere near the nightmare when Excel for Mac 2008 was released which dropped VBA completely and overnight Mac clients found they couldn't use macros at all.....!
