    Computing Duration of Last Logout vs Next Login

    Hi guys. Hopefully you could help me complete what I want to achieve.

    I have 3 columns A:C

    A = Employee Name
    B = Timestamp (Date&Time)
    C = In/Out

    Example:
    Please Login or Register to view this content.
    I would love to see the following:
    Column D = All of their Logins
    Column E = All of their Logouts
    Column F = Duration between their Last Logout vs Next Login

    I'm currently using a Google Spreadsheet.

    If you're using Google Sheets, DESPITE the yellow box at the top of all pages on this site, it'd be FAR BETTER to provide a link to a shared copy of the Google Sheets file rather than an .XLSX simulacrum which the rest of us would need to download from this site, then upload to Google Sheets. Yes, the yellow box above needs to be updated for the CURRENT millenium.

    See this.

    No formula in H2. In H3, try

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register to view this content.

    This does no error checking. If you have 2 or more logouts for a given person before a login for that person, the duration will be calculated as the time between the latest logout and the login.

    This is a good point, though applies only to this subforum. The fact that one is using Google sheets instead of Excel is not a millennium issue.

    I meant the instructions for uploading workbooks is so last millenium. Same could be achieved by providing links to viewable/copyable/downloadable workbooks hosted on OneDrive, Dropbox or any number of online storage providers who allow for sharing via urls.

    Perhaps also the necessity to Go Advanced and even then proceed further to the Manage Attachments page to upload workbooks, and when closing that window STILL NEEDING TO CLICK A BUTTON TO REFRESH THE PREVIEW TO SHOW THE FILE ATTACHMENT which SCREAMS first decade of the Internet Age.

    The other forum I frequent is Reddit, and I have to say I find markdown FAR MORE USABLE than the square-bracketed tags here. That and I want strikethrough and inline code blocks, and it sure would be nice if quoted blocks could use more of the width of response panes.

    Back to the original point. IF the text in the yellow box could be changed AT LEAST for OTHER PLATFORMS to indicate that examples could/should be provided via url links, that'd be a significant improvement to this site IMO.

    It would not be hard to add and I will pass that along to the admins. But I'm not sure that people need special lessons to know that they can post a link (if they have sufficient posts--we don't let new members post links because we get spammed so much).
