Google Sheets. Can I connect offline data from excel to google sheets?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question and the answer is obviously no but thought I'd ask anyway. I have a master offline data sheet in excel and everyday I copy and paste certain elements of it to an online google data sheet.
I was wondering if it was an impossible ask to somehow connect that offline excel sheet to the online one so that whatever I type into certain cells with have an import reference to the online sheet? So basically when I type data
into my offline excel sheet it's updated online automatically.

Seems like a pie in the sky idea to me but I've seen people here manage all kinds of things I thought were impossible with scripting so had to ask.

Is that "master offline data sheet" actually a MS Excel workbook ?

Well, if you were using MS Excel as "master offline data sheet" then, the answer was "Yes".... where some VBA code is needed on the Excel side and some scripting, on the Google Sheets side.
