Google Sheets and sheet protection exceptions

Hi

I need to protect a Google sheet and there are a large number of cells that need exceptions.

Is there an upper limit on the number of cells that can have exceptions?

In this sheet I can't seem to be able to except AI8:AL107

I can include it, the exception seems to be accepted, however when I do so I can't edit those cells from another account.

Also the total number of exceptions (145) does not increase in number. This is why I'm suspecting an upper limit for exceptions.

When I create a copy of the sheet and remove all exceptions except for AI8:AL107, the exception works.

Unmerging: I've tried unmerging the cells to see if that is the issue, however that does not help.

Apologies for the very slow response, I found the notification in my spam folder.

"Have you got it set that only you can edit the range?"

Yes, I have.

Eventually the problem resolved itself. I think it had something to do with Sheets not updating changes correctly. At work the internet connection is very problematic and this may have caused the updating issue.
