If you are asking about increasing the number of rows of dates then in Excel the data on the Instructors by day (July) sheet could be converted into a table and then use structured references in AliGW's formula:
Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT((Table1[[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]]<>"")*(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(A2,Table1[[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]]))))+(SUMPRODUCT((Table1[[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]]<>"")*(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(A2,Table1[[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]])))*((Table1[[#Headers],[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]]="Raniyan")+(Table1[[#Headers],[Intermediate]:[Joshiley]]="Joshiley")))/2)
If you are asking about increasing the number columns, then try changing the above formula by exchanging [Joshiley] with the column header of the rightmost column (inclosed on square brackets []).
That said, not sure if structured references work in googlesheets.
