    Formulas

So I have an estimating program that uses formulas very similiar to excel. See attached.

Any good course that could help me with these formulas. They are quite confusing sometimes depending on ther assembly I'm building and result I'm trying to get. Thanks.

    Re: Formulas

Perhaps you can tell us what application this is, and make your question a bit more specific. We can't recommend a course for logic in an unnamed application.

These formulas are pretty straightforward from a logic standpoint, but I have no idea what the stuff in [brackets] means.

The first formula simply says that there are two conditions:
    1. the first value is TRUE
    2. the second value is "Anchors on Concrete"

If both conditions are TRUE, then the result is 2. If either one of these things is not True, then the result is 0.

If that is confusing, I can address it in more detail.

    Re: Formulas

In Excel, you would probably not do this with nested IF statements, but lookup tables instead.

    Re: Formulas

This is a construction estimating program. The items in brackets are attributes that I created in the database.
