In my column A, cell A6 onwards, can someone help me with a data validation rule for A6 onwards which specifies that this is the criteria for the input:
👺Adam: 1-0
NO OTHER criteria should be allowed - it should be rejected, I can write an error message.
Examples of text to be rejected:
👺Adam:1-0
👺Adam: 1-0
👺Adam: 1-0 (trailing space)

Why would you have a name and a score in the same cell? This is REALLY bad design.
I think you are going to struggle with DV for cells that contain all these different names. Better to have the scote column separate.

it's because the output- all the scores will be copied and pasted onto whatsapp
I need a 'smart' and 'simple' solution for the untechnical end users who will use this, especially on a phone (google sheets) app rather than a pc.

You would be better having sepearate columns. You can have another column with a formula to concatenate them for copying into WhatsApp. You have put the cart before the horse ...
