    =SUM functions not SUMing properly.

    K so check out column B. When I add values to any of the empty cells the new values aren't included in the sum. Doesn't make sense. Changing the values of existing values doen't change the sum either.

    Column D total: value doesn't change when any of the related cell values are changed.

    It works for me, so I suspect you have calculation set to manual.

    Thx for the speedy reply.

    Well I certainly didn't set it to manual intentionally. Where is this setting? And why did the setting not apply the sheet when you loaded it?

    It's under Excel-Preferences.

    The setting is determined by the first workbook you open in an Excel session. I already had a workbook opened so that controlled the calculation setting for me.
