Dax formula to lookup latest value for given criteria

Hi All,

I have been searching for ages and can't find a solution to my problem and was wondering anyone could point me in the right direction. I am new to using dax formulas so any help would be much appreciated.

Im trying to create a dax formula in powerpivot to return the latest value for a given player.

The data looks like this:

Date Name BF
10/01/2013 A 10
11/02/2014 B 8
11/02/2014 A 11
13/04/2014 A 11


And I want to pivot out the latest date for each player so it would look like this:

Name Date BF
A 13/04/2014 11
B 11/02/2014 8

Im thinking it will involve a lastdate formula but I have tried everything to get it to work.

Any help would be much appreciated and Im sure its not really your area but if you know anyone who would know it would be fantastic?
