Excel Developer: For a Living and for Fun

Hello everyone! I have used Excel for more years than I care to count. I may have started with VisiCalc... I am over 50 years old, after all. I work for a huge international corporation as an Excel Developer and Data Analyst. In my free time, I also enjoy pushing Excel VBA to its limits by writing games. My two most ambitious efforts so far are a 3D Star Trek game (based on the 2D version written in BASIC back in the 80's), and a war game (with tons of AI). I have also written numerous simpler games, including DND-style down-view, maze generators, and logic games. I even started a 3D maze generator that would export a complex 3D block maze as a MineCraft Schematic file that could then be inserted into a world using WorldEdit. However, Schematic files are actually zipped, and I never figured out an easy way to zip just using VBA. Well, I did, but it also required calculating the CheckSums, and that is what threw me.

So anyway, even though I joined the forum like 9 months ago, this is the first time I have posted anything. I look forward to reading what other Excel enthusiasts have to say, and maybe finding a challenging project on which to collaborate.

    Scott
