    Text & numerical linking?

Hello folks! I have just come back to Excel after years of not using it! I have made some great progress but am a little stumped with my latest project and wouldn't mind some pointers.

I will simplify this as much as possible: I have 2 sheets in particular in the same workbook. On one is a list of competitors, their teams, and the points they have earned.

On the second I would like to tally up the team points form that first sheet.

How do I go about identifying the team/competitors and link the individual points onto the tally sheet (sheet #2)?

As you may noticed - this is just "say hallo" forum. Real discussion goes on standard forums, so if your question is still open - post it in one or regular forums.
    May be: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-formulas-and-functions/

    Friendly advice:
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
    Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
    Best Regards,

Sorry, when you say click on Go Advanced, where exactly is this? I was trying to post but couldn't attach my document or find the Go Advanced.
