Statistical coding - relative beginner trying to enhance skills

Hi, I have created an excel s/s which uses web links to update football league tables, sorts them, and then calculates attack and defence strength allow me to predict goal expectancy against 2 selected teams, I am trying to enhance this further so that the s/s runs its own statistics and performance mi, im in process of writing formulas which will automatically present a prediction based on the values of 2 cells (the scores) - for example, if the 2 cells match (0-0, 1-1) then a value of 1 is presented in the 'Draw' colum, this allows me to run stats on all predictions where a draw is predicted. its basic formulas to most people within a complex idea. Next stages for me are:

1. to create a formula which locates the highest value of 2 columns, then presents to content of the cell 2 to the left (team name)
2. Create a formula which presents the value 1 when both columns do not equal 0 (Both teams to score)

The end goal is to present accuracy on specified markets and produce the results t back up the predictions, eventually maybe even turn this into an app

I am a novice to VBA and formulas, google as been my best friend in getting to the point im at now
