    hi to you all.

Total newbie to the site forum and an excel novice.
Trying to work out how to apply a minimum call out charge.
I'm a flooring retailer and we charge per square metre per job. E.g Carpet fitting at £2.50 per metre but there is a minimum call out.
When we visit a home we would ask for a £50 call out charge minimum
I would take the total square metre area of the room times by the £2.50 per sq metre for fitting, if the amount is greater than £50 then that's is the price.
But the amount being less than £50 then the minimum call out charge applies.
I have had many ago at this and have tried to use the existing posts on this site to help but can't get to work for me.
    No Laughing!
This is formula I have got closest with but it comes back FALSE. =IF(A1*2.50>50,(A1*2.50))
A1 is the area is square metres.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Entensal.
