    Hello, John Here

    Hello,

My name is John. I know how to use very basic uses of Excel, but I am now wanting to learn how to really use excel and explore the power it has. I wish to learn first from the great quality of threads here and eventually as I pick up bits and pieces, contribute back to others who are in my shoes in the coming future.

Thanks for reading bit about me, if you would like please share something about yourself and I can get to know you.

Thank you arlu1201, do you have any good resources / videos you can guide me to, geared towards complete beginners? A way to structure my learning so that i'm not trying something very complicated right off the bat. Thanks for your time and warm welcome!

    Re: Hello, John Here

Hello arlu1201, what is the general restriction before one can post a link? I am trying to post as meaningfully as i can to posts in which i can contribute with what I know, and largely most of the other threads are beyond my expertise. I have a own thread of my own for which i need assistance in but I am not able to share a copy of my excel file as it is too large for the native upload settings on the website. I wish to link a dropbox download link so whoever can help me out can view my file to see what I mean.

What i mean is what is the minimum number of posts a user must make before they are allowed to post links?

    Hi John,
You probably already noticed that this is just "hello" forum. Merit input/questioins shall be posted in specific sub-forums.
As for excel files - we prefer to have them atteched rather then linked to.
To attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
    Best Regards,

    Kaper
