New guy from Illinois

Hello,
My name is Paul. I am a 56 year old Father of 2 GREAT Sons (34 & 29)(Holy CRAP my youngest is almost 30 ). I am happily divorced.
I work in a local warehouse. I was awarded my own customer. It's a one man job, I do all of the forklift work all the way to the billing. It's very fast paced & demanding and that's why I like it.

I will be scanning the threads nightly for a while. I am, by no means, any sort of geek or computer expert. I have always wanted to learn as much as possible about any new program I can get my hands on. I know enough about excel to keep my customer happy with the program I created to monitor their inventory. I used to work at a place where my desk was right next to a guy that was very knowledgeable about Microsoft programs. He was always willing to help & I was a sponge trying to absorb as much as possible. I would go to him with "OK if I can see it being beneficial, I know someone else already implemented into this program." And he would walk me through the process to get the results I was looking for.
After my divorce I drank myself stupid for about 6 or 7 years. During that time my Sister (who lived next door) bought a pc & invited me over to check it out. This was in the 90's. I had so much fun learning about that computer I knew that if I had one it would help me kick the drinking problem. Mission accomplished. I quit drinking all together in 2001 & now I spend all of the bar time sitting at the pc.
Now I love photoshop (I've been into photography since the 70's), I'm editing videos, and trying any program I can get my grip on. The photography / photoshop stuff has made me some extra cash as well.

Forums have always been my friend...... some people are idiots, but moreover, people are more than willing to share their knowledge. I'm kinda shocked at myself for waiting this long to search for a forum to help me with Excel.
