    Oldy Mouldy Still Using VBA

    Hi Folks

I began using Excel VBA around 1990 - up to that time I had been using Lotus 123 (can anyone remember that?)

Initially I hated Excel VBA but Microsoft were so much better marketers than Lotus that pretty soon it became the standard.

It still has horrible glitches such as the difference between functions in Excel vs VBA (e.g Upper vs Ucase)

But you can waste a lot of time and effort complaining about the product - much better to get on with the job and use it.

Like most of us I still find myself getting bogged down with little things. Like now - for some reason I can't get TextBox.backColor = vbYellow to work - but I will.

For those of you who are younger than I am (probably all of you) you will find that working with something like Excel VBA is a really good brain stimulant.

Now, as to geography etc. Well I live on the east coast of Australia around 450kms south of Sydney (where all the bushfires were a few weeks ago).

At the moment, like the rest of the world, we are doing what we can to avoid contracting the coronavirus. It has certainly been a different start to a new year.

    Cheers folks

    Lex
