I just joined because I really need help with the new version of excel. I was proficient in the 2003 version but now even the easiest tasks are confusing to me.

Don't be disheartened or put off by the appearance of 2007. It does take some getting used to at first but there is a logic to it and you will learn by using it more. This is certainly a good place to ask for any sort of assistance with Excel.
