Hello all - Looking forward to learning and open to guidance.

    Hello all,

I usually work on networks and servers daily , group policies, security polices and all other sorts of duties in my title as IT Director at the company where I work. I am really not a programmer by nature but am not fearful of code. I am working on a spreadsheet on my spare time ( Yay!) so it has been quite awhile since I have worked in excel doing formulas , functions, charts etc...anyhow...here is the situation. I would like to clean up a company spread sheet. I started at company X year ago and they have never used any type of database and store all there data poorly in Excel for a few years now this has been going on. This is super bad and I do not mind finding ways on line thru hints and tricks watching youtube videos and educating myself. I want to clean up the data, present a new sheet based on their needs and have them use this sheet since it will be clean and would work later for reorganizing the old data so that it can be transitioned into a database system.

    So main goal here.

Learn how to make their current sheets easy to edit and maintain with best practices until a database solution is in the project scope.
I need to really push the importance to my boss and have her get her staff to learn how to create , maintain, and keep clean data on a daily basis with best practices spanned thru the company. At this time they create all kinds of sheets and make them just wrong! I need to get refreshed on excel to help them with these problems and in the end the company will spend less money on data cleansing their excel sheets if they start now.

Boy am I a meanie right!
