Microsoft OneNote ... is thhere a place for this question? :)

    Hello,

I'm playing around with the OCR capabilities in OneNote. I'm having trouble getting the software to read white text on a black background. If I invert the text to black on white the OCR finds it almost every time.

Can anyone offer an explanation for this?

    Thanks.

My first thought was to prevent computers from interpreting the text in search engines like the one used for excelforum.
(typed with a smile but in all seriousness) Is there a way to turn this off, if I can prove I have no intention of ill will?

    It's not just OneNote - it's a common OCR issue: https://www.google.co.uk/#q=ocr+whit...ack+background

I suspect it might have to do with the way that OCR processes what it 'sees' - any black pixel will need processing, where white, I suspect, is treated as space, so I imagine OCR will see black text on a white background as much crisper. I would and do always invert white text on a black background before OCRing.
