The pictures are of my Task Bar and my Start Menu. I'm not aware of any changes I did that would have caused the defaults to change. How do I get the correct icons back?

I know I'm not stupid, but I suspect I'm a lot stupider than I think I am
I've seen this a lot in Windows XP. This does happen from time-to-time when the icon cache doesn't update properly.
Here is a Microsoft link which addresses (and hopefully a fix for) this issue: Icons are changed unexpectedly in Windows
Syrkasi,
Thanks for sending the link. I can't use the methods mentioned for two reasons:
1) it requires someone with Admin rights, and since I'm in a work environment we're not given admin rights to our machines.
2) The process says to delete IconCache.db. I've searched (including system and hidden files) and I don't have an IconCache.db on my machine.
Okay, I think I've fixed it. For some reason Windows lost the path to the various Icon.exe files it was pulling the icon images from. For Excel and Word in my Start menu I did a right click, went to "Properties", "change icon", and drilled to the correct path. For Outlook in my taskbar, I first went to my Start Menu, Programs, Office 2013, Outlook, right clicked, and pinned it to my start menu. Then I removed the Outlook icon from my Task Bar, then did a right click on my Outlook in my Start Menu and selected "Pin to task bar", then deleted the Outlook on my Start Menu. whew! Everything looks good now. Still wonder why/how it happened.
