    Click carries through too far

Quite often nowadays I work remotely. I've noticed a host of issues, but the biggest is a Click latency. For instance, and this is my biggest issue, but there are others, when I have an Outlook email open, if I close it by clicking on the X, my click carries through to Outlook behind it, whereupon I get a message box asking if I want to delete my junk mail or not. No matter how I answer, even clicking the X on the MsgBox, Outlook closes and I have to restart it. This happens 20-30 times per day, even when I'm trying to be very accurate in my clicking.

Is there a way I can fix the click-through latency, or add a prompt to cancel the closing of Outlook?

Any help would be appreciated. Be aware this is a work computer so I don't have Admin rights on it.
    I know I'm not stupid, but I suspect I'm a lot stupider than I think I am

Are you using Outlook as a desktop client locally on your machine? Or are you using a virtual window connection to your work server?

I'm using a virtual window connection to my work server. Speed seems fine, and I can get to everything just fine. It's mainly my mouse that has issues. For instance, quite often I can't drag down in Excel, Copy/Paste is very iffy, a few other things. I can live with most of them, but the Outlook thing is super annoying.

I have not seen this before but the issue is almost certainly due to your virtual window software (I've used Citrix but there is a lot more out there now). Does it have this problem with all applications, such as your browser, or just Office?

My first step would be to contact your company's tech support.

I haven't really noticed any browser issues, other than we still use IE as our default, which causes all kinds of issues right there.

I guess IT is the right way to go, but I'm usually not very impressed with their work.

Yeah, depends on the company. For the last 15 years I worked for a small company and we didn't have an IT support group. Oddly it was an IT company. I was a V.P. and half the time people would drag their laptops into my office to fix things.

That's actually a sad story. Probably more common than we realize, but sad all the same.
