Protect Workbook Structure settings do not save when uploaded to Sharepoint
Hi all, I have a sheet that has a main tab updated with data from sheets that I normally hide. The tab is fully locked down apart from a cell where users have a drop down tab to select a particular month. The sheet is saved on a Sharepoint accessible to around 60 volunteers of a charity.
I am the only one who makes changes to this backing data and to avoid any unwanted changes or details being deleted I hide the information sheets and protect the entire workbook structure with a password. I then save it to sharepoint. If I am the next person to open it, the protected structure remains in place and requires a password to unhide the information sheets. If another user opens the workbook to view the information and they close it, the sharepoint site updates but it removes the protected sheet status allowing the next user to unhide and edit what should be hidden tabs.
Re: Protect Workbook Structure settings do not save when uploaded to Sharepoint
I am having the same issue. Protect Workbook Structure is removed after uploading to SharePoint, however the protection I have set for each individual sheet remains intact. So The cells and structure of each sheet are protected, but users are still able to move, delete, and add sheets. Not sure how much this next part matters, but to provide more info: the first time I or anyone else opens the file from Teams/SharePoint the Protect Workbook Structure is still working. The second time it's opened in SharePoint/Teams it is removed. I use MS-Office 2016 on my work computer when editing and to set the protection before saving to SharePoint, and at first thought it might be an issue with compatibility. I tested saving the document at home using the most updated version of Excel 365 then transferring the file directly to SharePoint on my work computer and ran into the same issue.
