Old version of dat file keeps being reinstated

    Hello,

I have a dat file which sits on the server and is updated as a text file by vba.

For some reason after a few seconds the file is overwritten and replace with one from about 6 months ago. Even if it's deleted or manually saved, the same thing happens.

I tried to get round it by renaming it and creating a new data file thinking that this would prevent it being modified. It didn't work and in fact both the old and new files were reverted to an earlier date.

It's only this particular file so far, but there are other dat files which it would be disastrous if the same thing happened to.

I wonder if anyone has experience of this had know the reason?

    Thank you.

This was a bug in some internal software so nothing to do with Windows.
