It's my understanding that, unless you choose to create a new partition, delete or extend an existing one, or re-format one, no data files (i.e., *.xls, *.doc, etc) will be lost.

Buy the upgrade software Windows 7 - should be ok as everyother upgrade patch from M$ is ok this was, never used Vista or V7 dont see it shold be a problem...

Thanks all for the replies, however i was just seeing if the "3 stooges" who frequently post in these new forums with copied posts from other sites would dare to answer.
Courtesy of the Excel conference and Microsoft i have a Technet plus subscription so if i did upgrade the software would be from them and the support if i needed it.
To be honest, and i think someone is aware as all posts here are locked these posts are a sham and shameful!
