    Force closing portable apps

I have a couple of portable apps run from a folder with no install, that run fine on my XP computer, but when i come to run them on a windows 7 computer they wont run at all.

Is there hat much of a difference between the two systems?

Do I need to change some settings in 7?

    Thank you

Perhaps you`ll need to change your apps:

TrueCrypt creates virtual encrypted disks within a file and mounts the file as a real disk. It can also encrypt an entire hard disk partition or device, such as USB memory stick, floppy disk, etc. It supports a range of high-security 256-bit encryption algorithms, including AES, Serpent, and Twofish. For even higher security, these can be combined (e.g. Serpent + Twofish) in the event that one of the algorithms are eventually cracked.

Have you tried running them in XP mode?

In Explorer right click the .exe file and open 'Properties'
    Click the 'Compatibility' tab
Tick the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'
Select XP and whichever service pack you had which you know works.

Apply and close the windows down.
    Try running the program.
