Is it possible to Disable Key tips?

    Hi,
I use the alt-tab key sequence to bring up open applications, sometimes I leave the alt key depressed while I am deciding where to go, If I am in an office application this triggers key tips and sometimes they just keep painting the screen on the ribbon so I see blackk" rectangles instead of number /letters. I don't use key tips and was wondering if it waspossiblee to disable them?

this is in Win7 pro and office 2010.
    TIA
    Alan

Okay this was not an office issue, another application was not releasesing GDI objects which was causing Office to misbehave
