    Split/Partition C Drive

    Hi All,

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7. They have configured only 1 drive (C in it with one or 2 applications of Office 2010.

I have downloaded some basic programs that i need and am on my way to install Office 2003 and 2007 on it.

However, i would like to split the C drive into C & D. I mean partition it.

How should i go about it? I had done it once long back but do not want to risk spoiling the current laptop with my goof ups.

Also, can i partition it after installing Office 2003 & 2007?

    Thanks,
    Arlette

Np - Download Gparted Bootable http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php/ and boot from a USB device - It's all self explanatory - Of course if you want a better OS, Ubuntu is out there and Office2010 works perfectly on Linux machines

    Re: Windows 7 :Split/Partition C Drive

In the past I've successfully used Partition Magic while in Windows. I also noticed some other users suggested Live Linux distributions, which MiniPE is also in my opinion the easiest for any user.

    Best wishes.

    Since your on Windows 7
I suggest you should try this first before installing anything:
Create a New Partition on a Windows 7 Hard Disk
