Formatting in Word

Hi

I am working on a friends resume and I can not seem to format the page correctly. (I am using another persons format because I like the lines) When I try to delete rows to make the spacing look better, it does not delete or the entire row deletes...The line under email in the heading is too far down, the spacing of the line above Professional experience seems to high. Also, if I try to indent "Assessment Administrative Assistance" it jumps down to the middle of the page!! I feel I should start over from the beginning, but maybe one of you could help. I used the hidden formatting tool, but that did not help. I appreciate any assistance.
