Excel Moving my Data to Other Columns

I have a spreadsheet with about 23,000 rows.

Excel moves some of the data from one cell to the next cell. I get it all formatted to the proper column, then later see data moved around again.

I do a lot of sorting and filtering, which could be causing this but I don't know why it would.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Mike

Re: Excel Moving my Data to Other Columns

    Hi, welcome to the forum

Excel will not (cannot) just move data from place to place, all on it's own - something (you?) is making it do that.

You say you are sorting and filtering, could it be that the data is not moving, but that what you are seeing is the same data from other rows?

Can you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and show what is happening?

Actually I can see Excel doing it.

Seems to be when I do a filter, then sort on the filter data. Moves some data to next column.

Let's see your sort code - Are you doing a horizontal sort?
