Question Credit/debt system for school cafeteria

    Hi

First of all; sorry for my english. Hope you guys understand.

I work at a school where we have cafeteria.
The students have to pay 600 dkr (=75$) in advance to be able to buy in the cafeteria. With every transaction, the people working in the cafeteria have to write down by hand how much the student spent, and how much is left on the students account.

I have been asked if it's possible to make a system that takes care of this. Hopefully free of charge, so I thought of Excel 365 (or excel 2010), which we already have. But I'm at a loss as have to do it.

I would like for the cafeteria to be able to sort the students by class and then by student, and then substract the amount for the order. Leaving the student with a new balance. Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Welcome Michael,

Perhaps the attachment will get you started.

When a student submits their 600dkr you enter that in column C.
As they spend you enter the amounts in the highlighted section under the relevant date and against the relevant student name.
Column D will show a the current balance.

You can add more dates and the formula in column D will take them into account automatically.

You can also sort the data in any way you wish and everything will adjust appropriately.

    Hope useful.

    Beth.

Approx 10 classes with 20 students in each.
So some sort of easy selection would be perfect
