Thoughts on a tiered audit report - you may have done something similar before

    Hi All

I need to create an audit sheet which roughly equates to a one sheet report summarising the input from 6 or so departments. You'd think easy. A single sheet paper copy, passed through hands, is never going to work. Lost - spilt coffee - never saw it etc.

I would rather have the control of the sheet but am unsure the best direction. What I would like is a bespoke "template" like a userform that can be emailed to the respective parties for returned when filled. The templates can then be "pasted" to the final sheet. This means each is responsible for the return of their data, if they dont..tough.. another days work, but the one sheet is not holding up others in the process of being distributed and each entry is private

Can anyone suggest a methodology for this type of thing.. any ideas appreciated

    Nigel

Nigel - I don't think this should be in The water Cooler! Which sub-forum would you like me to move it to?

I've popped it into Office 365 for now - let me know if you think another sub-forum would be more appropriate.

If you were to change to Office & Excel 365 you'd probably find the co-authoring functionality achieves all that you want, without all the frustrations and limitations of the old Excel 'Shared Workbook' functionality.

Here are a few links I turned up. You'll no doubt find many more.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sha...oring-overview

    https://jkp-ads.com/articles/ExcelCoAuthoring.asp
    https://www.howtogeek.com/435380/eve...ring-in-excel/
    https://www.xltrail.com/blog/collabo...xcel-workbooks

It would probably be a good idea to update your details to reflect that you are on 365.
