Excel waiting for Word to Perform an OLE Action

Hi All,

I am currently working on an iMac running on Catalina. I've recently transitioned to working with Office 365 and noticed the performance controlling Word through Excel is not ideal. On 2011 it worked well but not so much with Office365.
When I try to paste a selected range from Excel into Word, it pauses for a minute or two then prompts me with an error saying, Excel is waiting for an OLE action. Although I get the error when I get the message it ends up pasting it anyway. Anyway to fix this?

vba is the same on apple and win, is it not? can you do this?

Thank you so much for your response vba_php on this post and my other. Unfortunately still can't find a solution. Word macros in word work well and the same with Excel. The issue is having one control the other. Thought I would find alternative solution by using something like AppleScript. I'm starting to believe Apple's Sandboxing is causing the problem unfortunately.

Try this:

Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action

• Open the Excel sheet and go to the File menu. In the File menu, click on Options.
• An Excel Options dialog box will appear. Go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to the General area. ...
• Restart Excel.
