Numeric keypad adding a 9 before each number

    Hi everyone,

In Excel when I enter numbers on the numeric keypad, the keyboard adds a "9" in front of the numbers. In this example I typed "1236" but "91929396" is what appears. This is not happening on the top row of numbers.

    The result is this:

My cat walked across my keyboard and this is the result!

If anyone has any idea how to fix this I'd be in your debt.

    Thanks.

Does this happen in any other application besides Excel? Have you tried it in Word?

What is the make and model of your keyboard?

It only happens in Excel. I've tried it in a bunch of other applications and it's only Excel.

I think it's a compatibility issue with HP. After searching everything I could find on Excel I turned to HP and saw that others had experienced similar. I've ordered a new keyboard so we'll see how that goes.
