Hi

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the below.

So I'm running Click-to-run O365 at work and the addins folder in the usual place C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Addins and you can get this for each user with the environment properties.

However, on a laptop the addins are somewhere different C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Office.Desktop_8wekyb3d8b4we\LocalCache\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns which it seems cannot easily be identified for each user using the environment properties.

Moreover, if you create the traditional path C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Addins and install an addin there, it shows correctly in Excel, but if you look in the folder it's empty.

Looking around it seems that how O365 is installed is the cause and that the second path occurs when it originates from the Microsoft Store.

It seems a bit of an oversight that how something is installed can have a such a fundamental impact on a well established file structure and I've got to try and explain this to a paranoid IT department who just plug stuff in.
How do you go about dealing with this when coding?
