Today's date to automatically enter in another cell

    HI All,

I am new here so I'm not sure how this works but I have (hopefully) a simple question.
What would the formula be for as follows:[table="width: 500"]

When i select an option in Row M, whether it be Settled, Action or pending (this is a drop down option), I want today's date to automatically appear in Row K (but still be able to overwrite it if neccessary)

    Thanks for your help
    Brenda

In column K you can have a formula that will show today's date, but then tomorrow it will show tomorrow's date--it will show whatever is the current date. I suspect you want it to be set to today's date, then stay that way unless you change it. If that's the case this must be solved with VBA.

Can you confirm what you need?

    Thanks Jeff,
This is exactly what I am after.
I don't want the date to change daily, I want it to be set to the day that I select an option in Column M.
Sorry, I'm not very good at excel!

This requires VBA. Here is the code and I have attached an example of how it will work in your file. Let me know if you need more instructions about how to do this.
