    Moving monthly total question re last , first date

    Hi,
    Jus been watching rolling monthly total video where ;

    < Moving X Month Avg:=CALCULATE(AVERAGE(MAT[Units]),
    DATESINPERIOD(MAT[Date],LASTDATE(MAT[Date]),-1,MONTH)) >

    so as the calculate make a row context (at least it seems to) for LASTDATE, if thought it shouldn't make a difference if you
    use FIRSTDATE, and I do get the same results in a pivot table, but the actual 'measure totals' in measure grid are quite different.

    Can someone help to explain what's actually happening.

    Richard.

    Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

    Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well.

    To upload a file click the Go Advanced button at the foot of your post, look underneath the post area for the Manage Attachments section and take it from there.

    Have scrolled down and can't see where to upload file, there's usually a 'manage' when starting a new thread, but can' seen anything at the bottom of this to indicate I can now upload a file just thread information, similar threads etc?

    You should have added it to this thread... not started a new one, as duplicate threads are not allowed.
