    Power Pivot CALENDAR table is on many side of relationship

    Hi,
    I created a date table in power pivot using 'design' date table; "new", fine,
    the problem is when related to it's 'source' table in diagram view , the source table is on the one side and the Calendar table on the
    many, the min date of the source is 05/05/2020 and the max is 17/01/2021.
    The pivot table calendar has 731 rows? The first date is 01/01/2020 as you'd expect and the last 31/12/2021 again correct,

    Where have the other rows come from , what's happening?

    I've attached the example ;

    Can't you just alter the direction of the relationship using the manage relationships dialog?

    I did think about that but don't know how in Power pivot I've done in PBi, but couldn't see an option in pivot.
    but i'd like to see why it's happening.

    the extra row is due to a leap year, but you'd probably realized that.

    Well its sort of solved , I deleted the relationship, and dragged from Sales to Calendar rather than the other way round,
    is that common, I don't think I've had it happen before, it's always just figured out, if I remember rightly in pbi manage there was a set order to selecting but can't remember what it was.

    It's a bit fiddly in the PP dialog. You have to alter the table order but in order to do that, you have to change the first table to something that isn't in the relationship, then change the second table to what was the first table, then change the first table to what was the second table.

    Yes that does sound fiddly,
    but thanks anyway.

    I've also found that if you go to pivot table analyze , you can edit the relationship from there, and there , whether editing or creating a new relationship, the first table will be the foreign key and the second the primary . and it's not a bit fiddly.
