Formula to work out What year group a child is in

    Good Morning

I am trying to find the formula that will give me what year group a child is in. The attached is the data i am working with. The categories I am trying to create are Year 5 their date range is 01/09/2012 to 01/08/2013, Year 4 is 01/09/2013 to 01/08/2014. Any help appreciated as I'm going round in circles.

Hi Everborntoes and welcome to the forum,

You are looking for a VLookup Table with the last argument as TRUE. See the attached.
    Year Group Example VLookup True.xlsx
Here is an example but with grades instead of DOB at: https://www.exceltip.com/lookup-form...-in-excel.html
You will need to build your own lookup table and the values need to be sorted from smallest to largest.
