DAX Filter fact table by Dates on dim table

Hi,
I have a fact table with dates and sales, and then a dim table of dates a start and end between which I'd like to calculate the total sales;

so in excel ;

How can I do this with a DAX formula, I have a Calendar table linked to sales and then the date parameter's ,

Do I need to link both start and end date and use 'USERELATIONSHIP', any help welcome or pointers to source of more information / tutorial etc.

I first overcoplicated things by using relatedtabe, forgetting that calculate see entire data model so had this ;
